o.k but collects dirt September 1, 2010 SLS (Baltimore, MD) I have a floor mat similar to this one.
I don't know if my house is typical or not but we have a lot going on boys, cats, playdates, etc. and the mat is frustrating to keep clean and intact.
Pros
-Being able to rearrange the letters and the squares.
-Ability to hold letters when learning alphabet.
-Great surface for learning to crawl because softer on the knees and face.
Cons
- Dirt, dust and cathair gets trapped under the mat and between letters easily.
- Spills are more difficult to clean up because it spreads between letters and under the mat.
- Kids LOVE to pull letters out so I have spent too much time putting them back in.
In an ideal world kids would always take shoes off, never eat in the toy room, and replace letters when they take them out but that is not realistic for us.
If I had to do again, knowing our lifestyle, I would not choose this style of floor covering again. I would have purchased solid squares where the letters don't come out.
Best thing for a sitting/crawling baby September 1, 2010 Maggie B This mat is great for a baby that is just learning to crawl or is sitting up. Its soft enough to not heart your baby in case he/she falls and hard enough for baby to be able to crawl and roll over easily.
I highly recommend this mat.
Love this play mat!! Best purchase I made! August 19, 2010 Calimommy09 I bought this play mat to give my 7 month old daughter a safer place to crawl and play. She sits without support but sometimes when she gets super excited while playing she falls backwards and hits her head on the tile. I finally I ordered this playmat and it has saved us so many tears. She falls back and gets right back up. Worth every penny. Also When I notice her diaper area getting a little irritated, I just give her diaper free time on the mat, and it's so easy to clean up any "accidents" she may have.I just have to wipe it down with a wet wipe or clorox wipes. Love this product!
good, but not compatable with other similar mats August 6, 2010 Ethanmama 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I purchased it for my son who started crawling. Overall it is good and did what I intended it to do as a cushion for baby to play on the hard floor.
Things not ideal:
Small dirt trap on the surface make it hard to clean.
It does not fit with other similar mat such as from BabyRUS. So I have to search around when I needed to expand.
Shipping cost is ridiculously high.
Good product, but a bit difficult to keep together July 28, 2010 R. Harris (Indianapolis, IN USA) The product is well made and thick enough, especially over a carpeted floor. It's great for both comfort and educational value. The only downside is that the interlocking tiles cannot stand up to a concerted attack by infant twins who choose to disassemble it. So far there is no damage, but the tiles do not stay assembled.
