Melissa and Doug, USA Map Puzzle March 13, 2010 Elizabeth A. Thrall (Oregon) Great Puzzle. WE now have a 5 year old that knows where her states are, and learning their capitals. High Quality, nice size. A+.
4 yr old and 6 yr old with AHC,Dyspraxia and ADHD love this puzzle! March 7, 2010 Pawpaw Bought this for Christmas 09 and my 4 year old and 6yr old sons love to make it. My 4yr old understands how the pieces fit together, but when he is stumped he asks my 6yr old to read the box and tell him which piece he needs. They sometimes work together, but both can make the puzzle individually. My 6yr old has a rare illness called alternating hemiplegia of childhood and he has also been diagnosed with dyspraxia and ADHD. Not only does he read the pieces, he consults the box if he gets stuck and he works at maneuvering the pieces into place to make them fit. This is huge for him because he has very poor finger strength. The catch is to make this puzzle on a flat solid surface. We've found it difficult to make on carpets. I can't say enough about this puzzle. Last fall, my 6yr old avoided puzzles and now he loves them (particularly maps). Furthermore, they are learning the fifty states! They know them all and they know most of the capitals!
We love this puzzle! I really like how the states do not interlock and are placed by shape! December 29, 2009 amazonluvr (O fallon, MO) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This puzzle really gets my daughter thinking and keeps her very occupied! She is 6 years old has still has trouble staying focused on any game or craft! With this puzzle instead of the pieces locking together (like most puzzles do) it goes by the shape of the state and is butted up against one another. Puzzle is nice and big, bigger than I expected! I do feel the pieces should be a bit thicker. They do tear apart easily but being they do not interlock together it wont get ruined quickly like most puzzles do! GREAT ITEM!!!
Great learning fun! November 21, 2009 Ryan's mom My just -turned 4 year old son loves this puzzle. We have it set on a coffee table so that he can get to it any time he likes which is often; he has learned the names of the States, their geographical locations and we are now working on the Capitols! We enjoy it together as well as by himself. Good product!
Great rehab tool November 4, 2009 Gift Card (Las Vegas, NV) I work with people with physical disabilities. We use this puzzle on a table top for standing activity. It is fun and is great as a conversation starter. My patients forget they are standing so it they stand longer which increases their strength.
