4 out of 5 stars Nice toy, but I wish we could have just gotten' the razor   July 21, 2010
TheirMom (Houston, TX)
This is a really nice toy. My son loves his special time every morning with Daddy. He just recently started to show an interest in shaving himself, so we got this. It has been a blast, but his favorite part of the set really is the razor. When we misplaced it, I was annoyed that we were going to have to buy the entire set again. He hasn't even touched anything other than the razor. (He uses a small amount of shaving cream or foaming hand soap to shave.) It's a great make believe set for little one's, but I really wish they would have included more than one razor or made individual razor's available.

5 out of 5 stars Grandson feels so grown up.   July 6, 2010

My grandson loves this set. The mirror scratches easily but everything else is durable. Now he has a "guy thing" to do in the bathtub and is loving it.

Upon receiving this grooming kit I was elated when I first saw its delightful coloration. The chrome-plated monotony of the world of high end razors wears upon one's own soul after a while, and this looked to be a refreshing breeze which just happened to blow my way. Removing the razor from its package, I immediately prepared some of the included lather and this product's true quality began to show. The lather was absolutely sub-par. I'm not quite sure as to the ingredients, but after exclusively shaving with glycerin or eucalyptis based lathers for the past 35 years, I simply will not settle for anything less, and this lather is definitely lacking. I poured it out and prepared some of my proraso shaving soap--much better. Don't buy this shaving kit for the lather. Or, should I say, don't buy it at all. The brush uses some sort of plastic material for its bristles, and experienced shavers know to use naught but the finest badger-hair brushes. Grudgingly, I lathered my face, picked up the razor (which, to my dismay, hardly fit in my hand. It must have been designed by dwarves) and began with a few swift strokes along the grain of my beard. It was the most painful shaving experience of my life! I don't know how this razor possibly got past quality control but the blades were the absolute dullest I have ever used, and this is a brand new, never before used blade! I continued, to see if I was just having a bad day, but I wasn't. This razor is just absolutely awful to shave with. Save your money, save your time, and save your face. I don't know if I'll ever be able to properly grow a beard again because of this product. Do yourself a favor and choose a quality razor. You WILL regret buying this.

5 out of 5 stars fun tub toy   March 26, 2010

I bought this toy for my 4 year old son. He loves to pretend to shave. After a year of owning the set, he now uses the brush as a paint brush to paint the shaving cream along the bathtub. He enjoys playing with the cream to make colored water or "coffee" in a cup in the tub. Fun toy overall!

5 out of 5 stars great bathtub toy   December 5, 2009

I purchased this for my 3yo grandson to use on weekly Grandma day visits. It quickly became his favorite bathtub toy. I do have to help him squeeze the "shaving cream" canister (think squeeze cheese). In addition to himself, his other bathtub toys sometimes get shaved...another bonus of the safe and kid friendly razor :-) It is a great pretend toy and he comes out clean and happy.
