5 out of 5 stars Flat amazing   September 10, 2010
J. Anthony Weeks (Cedar Mill, OR)
This is the first toy helicopter that actually responds to controls. Within a few minutes I was hopping it on one TV tray to the next. After playing with it for about 10 minutes, I decided I needed another one and logged back into Amazon and ordered a second one. Now I can't wait for my grand kids to come over...

5 out of 5 stars Verry nice indoor heli   September 9, 2010

To everyone who has ever owned a havoc heli, you need to buy one of these.I have owned 8 or so havocs and i have to say this thing blows them out of the water right out of the box.I have owned mine now for about a month and have yet to need to adjust the trim. When you turn a havoc heli it has a bit of an over steer, where it continues to turn after you stop turning. The syma has none of that problam, you twitch the stick over and the heli twitches that way then stops turning...just like that, no lag.On the controll the left stick controlls your hight, while the right stick controlls turning plus your forward and revers. The props on the syma are not fixed, sort of like the breakaways on the big havoc, except these are loose all of the time.these loose props are sweet,if you bump the wall they give way so your less likely to damage them, but then momentum brings them back into shape so you dont crash.Similar to the havoc there is a spring on the left stick,so that noobs dont keep the throttle on when they crash. However to me this is anoying,so like the havoc this is easy to remove...a few screws and it pulls right off.

5 out of 5 stars Helicopter frustration--gone, gone, gone !!!   September 7, 2010

About a yaer ago I purchased a no name plastic micro copter. It did nothing but spin and crash--very frustrating. I later purchased a pair of Airhogs for christmas. They were hardly controllable and crashed constantly--very frustrating. They proved to be very durable and allowed me to get frustrated over and over. I then purchased a $300 fixed pitch high quality outdoor heli. This shows hope, but still leads to crashes and I may never learn to fly it safely. Then I spotted the Syma S107 on Amazon. Good reviews, gyro, metal frame and the same price as an Airhog. As happens so often I felt it sounded to good to be true, but decided to risk it. Well surprise surprise, it is everything they claimed. It is a beautiful, quality built product, not a toy like so many others. The big sell is that is so stable and easy to fly (landed on coffee table twice on first flight) that I felt a goal in life had been finally answered. The only gripe would be 45 min charge (USB) and about a 7 minute flight. The answer to my only gripe was simply to get a second one and thustly double the flying time. It is not high performance, but is does offer relaxing and satisfying indoor flight.
I couldn't be happier and highly recommend it to "frustrated" Airhog pilots everywhere. Buy two, buy three you won't be disappointed.

4 out of 5 stars Great Little Relaxation Device   September 7, 2010
Barry (Salt Lake City, Utah United States)
I'm having a ball with this little baby. It flies well, and has precision control. The only issue I could see was that the English instructions need to be rewritten. They were horrible. One word for the wise . . . don't fly this chopper too close to fluorescent lighting. The IR in the lamps will kill everything.

3 out of 5 stars Wrong item sent, but still o.k.   September 7, 2010

Received the wrong item, a 'chinook' style instead of the one pictured. I would understand if the color was different or something, but this was just completely wrong. It's still fairly fun to play with, although the battery life is pretty awful - like 1 minute tops and it can't even get itself off the ground. I would say it's spent maybe 10 minutes total in the air since I got it about 1 month ago. Since it can't really make it off the ground I can't really say it does what it says, but I gave it 3 stars for fun since I can terrorize my dog with it on the kitchen floor.
